By geographical approach Oceania is featured by great island of Australia, by the islands of New Guinea and New Zealand and by a myriad of smaller islands, scattered in the Pacific Ocean and part of the groups of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.
Oceania is located nearly fully in the Austral hemisphere. With an area of about 8 million square kilometers it's the smaller continent of the globe, the population is about 31 million of inhabitants, the density is 4 inhabitant for square kilometer, the lowest of the Earth.
14 sovereign countries are part of Oceania.
